Job Title: Restaurant Equipment Repair Technician

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Equipment Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repairing and maintaining various types of restaurant equipment, including but not limited to ovens, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and HVAC systems. The primary responsibility of the Restaurant Equipment Repair Technician is to ensure that all restaurant equipment is functioning efficiently to support the smooth operation of our establishment.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with restaurant equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on restaurant equipment to prevent breakdowns and prolong lifespan.

Repair or replace defective parts in restaurant equipment, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Install new restaurant equipment as needed, including hooking up electrical and plumbing connections.

Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.

Provide recommendations to restaurant management regarding equipment upgrades or replacements to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to minimize disruption to restaurant operations during repair or maintenance activities.

Stay updated on the latest technology and best practices in restaurant equipment repair and maintenance.

Minor handyman repairs.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Restaurant Equipment Repair Technician or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Strong knowledge of various types of restaurant equipment, including ovens, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and HVAC systems.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with restaurant staff and management.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Certification or training from a recognized technical school or apprenticeship program preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 60 pounds) safely.

Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights (using ladders or scaffolding) as needed.

Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Additional Requirements:

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to respond to emergency repair calls or perform scheduled maintenance.
